Preparation for the exam for the first A category!

This course is designed for students who have not studied Latvian before. The course program is aimed at school students and adults who need Latvian for everyday communication and travel.

About the course

Upon completion of the A1 level Latvian course, you will be able to:

  • Introduce yourself and greet people.
  • Understand and use basic expressions.
  • Have simple conversations on everyday topics.
  • Read and understand short texts.
  • Write simple messages and fill out forms.
  • Use basic grammar.
  • Navigate everyday situations.

Course grammar material:

  • Alphabet and pronunciation.
  • Nouns: Gender and number.
  • Adjectives: Agreement with nouns.
  • Pronouns: Personal, possessive, demonstrative.
  • Verbs: Present, past and future tenses, infinitive.
  • Numerals: Basic and ordinal.
  • Prepositions: Basic prepositions of place and time.
  • Interrogative sentences: Basic interrogative words and question structure.
  • Simple sentences: The structure and order of words in a sentence.

Level A1 in Latvian is a beginner level of language proficiency. This level is designed for those who are just starting to learn Latvian and want to acquire basic communication skills. What skills and topics are presented in the A1 Latvian course?

Introduction and greetings: The ability to introduce oneself, greet and say goodbye.

Basic expressions: Use of polite phrases and expressions in everyday life.

Reading and comprehending simple texts: Signs, inscriptions, simple announcements and instructions.

How often are the A1 classes held, and how long does each class last?

The classes take place twice a week for 2 teaching hours (90 minutes) according to a pre-arranged schedule.

What are the terms of payment for the A1 Latvian course at the Polyglot Training Center?

The payment terms of the Latvian course provide for the option of splitting payments by month. However, it is also possible to pay for the entire course at once. This allows students to choose the most convenient payment option depending on their preferences and financial capabilities.
