Lithuanian language course A1 (without experience)

The course is designed for students with no previous experience in Lithuanian. The course program will help you learn basic communication skills and understand simple conversational situations.

About the course

Upon completion of the A1 level Lithuanian course, you will be able to:

  • Greet, say goodbye, introduce yourself;
  • Have simple dialogues about everyday topics (shopping, time, weather);
  • Ask and answer basic questions;
  • Read and understand short texts (advertisements, menus);
  • Use basic grammatical structures;
  • Handle everyday situations (shops, cafes);
  • Understand simple spoken language by ear.

Course grammar material:

  • Alphabet and pronunciation rules;
  • Nouns: Gender, number, basic cases (nominative, accusative, dative, genitive);
  • Adjectives: Agreement with nouns by gender and number;
  • Pronouns: Personal, possessive, demonstrative;
  • Verbs: Conjugation in the present tense, negation, basic modal verbs;
  • Numerals: Cardinal and ordinal.
  • Prepositions: Basic prepositions to indicate direction, time, and place;
  • Simple sentences: Structure and order of words (affirmative, interrogative, negative).

The classes take place twice a week for 3 teaching hours (2 hours 15 minutes) according to a pre-arranged schedule.
