Russian language course A1 (without knowledge)

The course is designed for students with no prior knowledge of Russian. The course program is aimed at school students and adults who need basic knowledge of Russian.

About the course

Upon completion of the A1 level Russian course, you will be able to:

  • Comprehend the basics of Russian grammar, including simple tenses, pronouns and prepositions.
  • Comprehend the basics of speaking for everyday situations such as meeting, shopping, and descriptions.
  • Understand and use basic vocabulary to communicate in Russian.
  • Read and understand simple texts in Russian, such as announcements, letters, and short articles.
  • Write short texts such as letters, emails, or simple notes.

  • Verb basics
  • Simple tenses
  • Basics of pronouns and prepositions: Personal and interrogative pronouns, as well as basic prepositions of place and direction.
  • Basics of nouns and adjectives
  • Simple sentences: Construction of simple affirmative, negative and interrogative sentences.
  • Basic constructions of a noun and a verb: Noun and verb groups, word combinations.

What skills and topics are presented in the A1 Russian course?

Basics of reading and writing: Reading simple texts (e.g. advertisements, schedules) and writing short messages and notes.
