Swedish language course A1 (without experience)

The course is designed for students with no previous experience of learning Swedish. The course program will help you master basic communication skills and understand simple conversational situations.

About the course

Upon completion of the Swedish A1 course, you will be able to:

  • Basic Grammar: Understand simple grammar structures, including basic tenses and declension of nouns and adjectives.
  • Basic Vocabulary: Can use vocabulary on topics such as family, work, food, shopping and everyday activities.
  • Speaking: Can handle simple conversations, introduce yourself and others, ask and answer questions about yourself and others.
  • Reading: Can read and understand short, simple texts such as advertisements, notices and letters.
  • Writing: Can write simple sentences, complete forms and compose short messages.
  • Listening: Can understand and follow the main points of simple conversations and dialogues on familiar topics.
  • Cultural Aspects: Knowledge of Swedish culture and traditions, which will help to better understand the context of communication and customs in Sweden.

  • Nouns: Definite and indefinite articles, gender of nouns, plural.
  • Adjectives: Declension of adjectives by gender and number, degrees of comparison.
  • Verbs: Conjugation of regular verbs in the present tense; stems of irregular verbs.
  • Pronouns: Personal, possessive and demonstrative pronouns.
  • Interrogative constructions: Formation of questions and use of interrogative words.
  • Simple sentences: Structure of affirmative, negative and interrogative sentences.
  • Numbers: Counting from 1 to 100 and number stems.
  • Prepositions: Basic prepositions of place and time.
